American Football Australia's Premier Flag League (PFL) is now four weeks into its inaugural season.
At the beginning of the PFL season, Bunnings East Gardens signalled early support for the program's launch with a donation of on-ground equipment that has since boosted the game-day experience for AFA's community of athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and parents.
The contribution from the Bunnings East Gardens team provided a ready-to-serve catering setup, including BBQs, trestle tables and a range of accessories, helping AFA give all participants and attendees food options on site.
Supporting AFA's high-performance flag football program, the PFL launched earlier this year. The competition features some of Australia's best flag football athletes competing weekly against the extended national senior squads, providing a scouting opportunity for developing talent while giving the current squad crucial match-day exposure ahead of the IFAF Flag Football World Championships in August.
AFA CEO Wade Kelly said the support has been there from the first week.
"You can't run a program like this without the community behind it. The Bunnings East Gardens team backed us from the start, and they've been with us every Saturday since. We're grateful for the support."
Support like this is what keeps a young competition running week to week. The PFL continues at Heffron Park in the lead-up to August.
