Vegas Raiders join AFA, NRL and the Rabbitohs for youth flag football clinic in Sydney

American Football Australia (AFA) is excited to announce a collaboration with the Las Vegas Raiders, NRL and South Sydney Rabbitohs to deliver a come-and-try youth clinic at the USANA Rabbitohs Centre in Maroubra on Monday 15 June.

Officially named ‘Raiders Flag x NRL Tag Skills Session’, the event is open to children of all skill levels and will feature players on field from the Las Vegas Raiders and Australia’s national flag football squad.

Bringing NFL Flag and NRL Tag together in one session, the clinic delivers a fusion of the two codes that gives kids a feel for both games in a single afternoon. Participants will work through hands-on drills, skills stations and interactive experiences alongside Raiders players, professional coaches and AFA athletes with their sights on flag football's Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

The session is delivered in a come-and-try format, where first-timers and seasoned juniors will train side by side, learning the fundamentals of both codes and the teamwork and confidence that come with playing them, along with a close-up view of how the two games are coached and played at the top level.

The event also marks the launch of Raiderettes ANZ, the official Australian-based members of the Las Vegas Raiders' Raiderettes cheer squad, while Raiders mascot Raider Rusher will join the action on field. With entertainment and giveaways running across the afternoon, the session is built as a family event for participants and spectators alike.

The session arrives in a defining stretch for flag football in Australia, with the sport confirmed for the LA28 Olympic program and AFA's national squads preparing for the IFAF Flag Football World Championships to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany this August.
